AMCHAM-MACEE Scholarship

AMCHAM created a scholarship endowment program in 1998 to benefit deserving Malaysian students planning to pursue their undergraduate studies in the United States. The AMCHAM-MACEE 2010 Scholarship awards a US$20,000 scholarship, covering four years of undergraduate study in the United States ($5000.00/year renewable for four years subject to meeting the specified conditions). The scholarship is open to qualified Malaysian students who are accepted to an accredited university in the United States for four years of study culminating in a Bachelors degree. The student must be accepted for Fall semester, 2010.

ELGIBILITY
Malaysian Students who have completed SPM, O Levels, STPM or A Levels.
Secondary school results must be translated into English, certified as ta true copy and submitted with the application.
TOEFL and SAT scores must be submitted, IF they are required by the U.S. university to which the student is applying to.
Two letters of recommendation.
Certified copy of IC or Malaysian Passport.
Prior acceptance into U.S. university/college.
Certified copy of acceptance letter or certified copy of I-20 from U.S. university/college.
SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES
The application for admission and all supporting documents must be received by May 30, 2010, to be considered for the Fall 2010 award. All documents must be official. You may mail them or hand-deliver them to MACEE.

CRITERIA

a. Applicants must be Malaysian citizens.
b. Applicants must posses good academic results in SPM/’O’ Level, UEC and/or STPM/’A’ Level examinations or equivalent.
c. Applicants must qualify to gain admission to the participating institution for the relevant course.
d. Applicants must be active in sports and/or co-curricular activities.
e. Applicants must possess leadership qualities and be self-motivated.
f. Applicants must be financially deserving.
g. Applicants must not already be in receipt of any scholarships, financial aid or award from other educational institutions or organizations.
h. Applicants must abide by the terms and conditions of theSun-MAPCU Higher Education Scholarship Fund.
i. Applicants must abide by other terms and conditions of the awarding institution, including any bond required.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
a. The scholarship shall be in the form of full tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the course.
b. The scholarship is for students to pursue courses in Malaysia only, at participating institutions. The scholarship specifically does not cover any fees etc. which may relate to studies overseas.
c. The scholarship shall be for the duration of the course and may be between one and four years. Students already enrolled at participating institutions may also apply. The students’ scholarship shall be for the remaining part of their course.
d. theSun-MAPCU Higher Education Scholarship Fund holder shall not receive any scholarship offered by other educational institutions or organizations.
e. On all matters pertaining to theSun-MAPCU Higher Education Scholarship Fund, the decision(s) of theSun-MAPCU Higher Education Scholarship Fund Awarding Committee (and relevant participating institution, as appropriate) shall be final and binding.
f. Applicants may apply for scholarships to a maximum of two institutions, but are entitled to only one scholarship.
g. Scholarship recipients are also subjected to other terms and conditions as may be decided by the participating institutions.
h. Terms and conditions of theSun-MAPCU Higher Education Scholarship Fund may be modified and amended from time to time as deemed appropriate by the theSun- MAPCU Higher Education Scholarship Fund Awarding Committee.
i. Scholarship holders must pass all examinations and maintain good academic standing; participate in the institution’s sports, co-curricular and other activities in order to maintain their scholarship status.

SYARAT-SYARAT PERMOHONAN

(a) Syarat Asas

(i) Warganegara Malaysia.

(ii) Umur tidak melebihi 25 tahun pada tarikh tutup permohonan.

(iii) Baru tamat Semester Satu *, Tahun Pertama Ijazah Pertama di mana-mana Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Tempatan dalam negara.

(b) Syarat Kelayakan Akademik dan Ko-kurikulum

(i) Memperoleh keputusan cemerlang dalam SPM / STPM / Matrikulasi/ Asas.

(ii) Kepujian dalam Bahasa Malaysia dan Bahasa Inggeris di peringkat SPM.

(iii) Memperolehi PNGK / CGPA minimum 3.50 dalam peperiksaan Semester Satu Tahun Satu (1),program Ijazah Sarjana Muda.

(iv) Memiliki kualiti kepimpinan dan penyertaan yang cemerlang/ aktif dalam ko-kurikulum.

(c) Syarat Tambahan

(i) Penerima BIASISWA TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN diperlukan berkhidmat untuk negara sekurang-kurangnya lima (5) tahun selepas tamat pengajian yang ditaja.

* Calon yang berjaya hanya ditentukan selepas menerima keputusan penuh Semester Kedua, Tahun Pertama, iaitu apabila sah mendapat PNGK / CGPA melebihi 3.5 untuk Tahun Pertama.

KADAR BIASISWA

Kadar Biasiswa adalah seperti berikut:

(i) Yuran Pengajian mengikut kadar yuran sebenar yang dituntut oleh IPT.

(ii) Elaun Sara Hidup bernilai RM1,000 sebulan.

(iii) Elaun Buku bernilai RM500 / semester.

(iv) Elaun-elaun berkaitan pengajian seperti tesis, elaun latihan amal / kertas projek, elaun alat perkakas (sekali

setahun).

(v) Tambang penerbangan (2 hala) sekali setahun (untuk pelajar Semenanjung yang belajar di

Sabah & Sarawak dan pelajar Sabah & Sarawak yang belajar di Semenanjung).

* Borang permohonan boleh dimuat turun mulai 26 FEBRUARI 2010.

Semua Permohonan mesti dibuat melalui Timbalan Naib Canselor (Hal Ehwal Pelajar) universiti anda. Jika tidak ia akan ditolak.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Intel Penang Design Center Scholarship, an applicant must:

Be a Malaysian citizen

Be a full-time student in a local university studying in the fields of Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering

Not hold any other scholarship from other companies, organizations, or Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA)**

Have one or more of the following:
SPM with A1 for mathematics and all science subjects

STPM with grade A for a minimum of three subjects

Matriculation with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above
