Dear Grove Friends,
Merry Christmas! Two years ago, we scaled back the ministry of The Grove Center for the Arts & Media. So maybe you've wondered, "What's up with The Grove?"
I’m very excited to share what has been happening in our ministry and our vision of ministry leading into 2012.
For the past eight months, our Board of Directors and myself have been praying how to best serve artists in the Church. What has emerged is a very simple plan...
Our mission is to help artists of all kinds in their spiritual growth and creative work. We do this through retreats, gatherings and ministry partnerships.
Moving forward, The Grove is focused on developing relationships and helping artists grow in Christ rather than growing a larger organization. My refrain the past two years has been, small is beautiful… just like our 12 acre lemon and avocado grove.
I am very excited about 2012 and our developing partnerships with these ministries: Worship Mentor Network, Christians in Visual Arts and
SEEDS Fine Art Exhibits, a ministry that takes art created by Christians out to public spaces like museums, airports and city centers, hubs of our culture.
How can you help? Please pray for our 2012 ministry. Next, please let us know if you would like to host an evening gathering or if you have access to a vacation home where we could could host a retreat. Our retreats and gatherings will be focused on host homes; not hotels or expensive facilities or large programs. Again, small is beautiful.
Would you consider making a year-end gift to The Grove? Your financial gift will help artists of all disciplines attend our weekend retreats and gatherings as we are underwriting these events. If you’d like to direct your gift to SEEDS Fine Art Exhibits,
The Grove has partnered with SEEDS as a supporting organization for their work and will ensure that their work of visual evangelism can continue for another year.
Wishing you and your family a Blessed Christmas,
Joey O’Connor
